climb Mount Elbrus · 2 August 2014

We support the growing number of people in and around Milton Keynes affected by a life-limiting illness. We give our patients and their loved ones specialist, personalised care - free of charge. Only 13.8% of our costs are met by ongoing NHS funding, so we’re dependent on your support. Thank you.

Story

My next challenge will be the most difficult I have done so far. In August 2014 I will be setting off for Russia to attempt to summit Mount Elbrus.

Mount Elbrus is the highest peak in the Caucasus, and the highest peak in Europe. It is located several miles north of the main crest of the Central Caucasus, in the Russian Republics of Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, north of Georgia. On this expedition we will climb the highest, west summit (5,642m) of Elbrus via the more remote northern route. This will entail having ice axe and crampon training prior to leaving the UK. The summit is capped in ice year round, and 22 glaciers sprawl from its slopes.

I will be supporting Willen Hospice again as they provide such essential care and support for families in their most difficult times. Hopefully we can help them carry on for many more years by raising as much as possible.

Over the last 3 years you have all helped to raise £6695.50 plus £870.50 gift aid - that's a staggering £7565. Now I'm trying to make it up to £10,000 with your help.

I know it's a lot to ask but, if you have even pennies spare, please consider donating them to Willen Hospice through this page.
