Abseil Centrepoint · 2 September 2005

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Abseiling 400ft on a Sunday morning for charity is always a good idea. What's more, it's always good to sponsor a lovely friend and a worthy cause like the RNIB! On Sunday 9th October 2005 I will be abseiling down Centrepoint tower. I am nervous already and it's only the start of September. However, I am putting a worthy cause ahead of my nerves.

Let's just think about why you should donate for a second?
- Have you ever been so drunk that you can't see?
- Suffered the consequences of beer googles?
- Lost a contact lens and moaned about not being able to see? - Said "see you later" and taken it for granted? Well, think about not being able to see all the time. It must be about as fun as being poked in the eye with a stick. RNIB is the UK's leading charity helping anyone with a sight problem. RNIB has worked with blind and partially sighted people for over a century with the specific aims of improving lives, increasing independence and eliminating preventable sight loss. I won't bang on about the good work that they do but please check out www.rnib.org.uk if you'd like more information. So if you choose to donate and make a real difference: Donating through justgiving.com is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNIB will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. >> Whoo-hoo! more cash for the charity! If you can afford to sponsor and would like to help the RNIB please do so. Your support is much appreciated. **I am going to be doing some events for Macmillan Cancer Relief later in the year so if you would prefer to sponsor that please contact me or look at www.justgiving.com/vaughnyCYCLE.** Thank you so much Siobhan/Vaughny PS Feel free to come watch on Sunday 9th October - Centrepoint Tower - next to Tottenham Court Road tube. [I'll be the tall, scared-looking one, probably wearing an excessive amount of protective clothing]
