This summer we (Daniel, Kit, Vere, Joe, Tim, Tarquin and Harry) will be attempting to trek the north part of the GR20 long distance hiking trail in Corsica in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The GR20 has been crowned the most difficult trek in Europe. It is much tougher than any trek we have done and I'm enormously excited to visit this beautiful island and trek the hardest part of the 180km of world famous hiking trail.

Every two minutes someone is diagnosed with cancer in the UK. That is equivalent to around 900 people a day or 300,000 a year and cancer incidence rates are still on the rise. At the current state of affairs, this awful disease is likely to affect almost everyone in their life time whether directly or through family or a friend.

However through organisations like Cancer Research UK, one day we will beat it. The more research we do, the faster that day will come. Just £2 could be enough to find a cancer causing gene and £8 is enough for them to keep cancer at the top of political agendas.

Our goal is to complete the North Section of the GR20 in 7 days (It is normally 9!). The island is rugged and terrain is rough. There will be plenty of scrambling over exposed sections and on certain days we will use steel chains and ladders for support. It's going to be tough.

This charity receives no government funding so please dig deep and donate what you can to help the Cancer Research UK so that they can continue their hard work to eradicate this disease.
