Veronica died at home with her close family beside her on the 6th November 2009. She was diagnosed two years ago with stage 4 ovarian cancer and some 8 years before that with Cushing's syndrome, the source of which was never established. 

She will be deeply missed by her family and remembered by her wide circle of friends, colleagues and pupils for her generous spirit and wonderful smile.
