Story
In October 2011 I lost my grandma to Dementia, she was a lovely lady and would have done anything for anyone. She always had sweets and chocolate biscuits to give me and my sisters and a little bit of money for our pockets, she had so much love and affection for her family. I can't begin to tell you how horrible it is to see someone you love so much, become so helpless and confused.
Before my gran was ill I had always wanted to challenge myself physically and mentally for charity. Since my gran passed away I wanted to help others going through a similar experience and when looking on the Alzheimer’s society website saw the Memory Marathon and straight away my heart said this was what I had been looking for. I signed up to it the second I could and really want to raise as much money as I can to really make a difference to people who genuinely need the help.
On September 8th 2012 I'm going to walk 26 miles in Northumberland in memory of an amazing lady who I am so proud to have called my gran.
Every penny really will make a difference so please give what ever you can.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Vicky x
