Story

I am running London Marathon 2011 for Action for Blind People, the charity that supports people with complete or partial loss of sight. Sponsorship money helps in many ways and becomes available to the charity immediately.
Running a marathon makes a difference from my usual routine - bridge is more like my type of sport, with a smidgen of short swims and runs for charity thrown in every year.
And then came a realization that to run a marathon - especially London marathon - before I am 50 would somehow mean a lot to me. Am I confident of being able to do it? Of course... Actually, now that I made a commitment to raise funds for Action for Blind People I simply have to get through with this run. I am running on the charity place, so I do need your sponsorship to make my run happen.
My training goes well; the races so far have been:

Fenland (Norfolk) 10 miles, 31/10/2010

Hadleigh (Suffolk) 10 miles, 21/11/2010

Bedford half marathon, 12/12/2010

Reedham (Norfolk) 10 miles, 30/01/2011

Brighton half marathon, 20/02/2011

Eton half marathon, 19/03/2011

Cambridge Festival of Running 10k, 03/04/2011

I am also becoming a regular at Cambridge parkruns, so the confidence grows. I also added an extra challenge for myself - a marathon around Windermere just a month after London. This should be different in all respects, and definitely more demanding. So please keep your sponsorship money coming to help charity and to keep my training spirit up!
