This Summer I am going to Romania for two weeks with a volunteer group from Bath University. We will be travelling to a town called Comenesti where every year volunteers from Bath work in 2 orphanages. The first is Casa Lumina, an orphanage for disabled children funded by the charity ‘Cry in the Dark’ whilst the other is a state run orphanage.
We will be going in order to spend time with the children there, playing with them and running activities for them. The aim is to improve their quality of life by providing them with some attention and care.
The money raised will go towards funding resources for the various activities we will run for the children as well as giving a donation to the Robert Cole centre - a nearby day centre for children with special needs - who will also be providing us with accommodation during our time in Romania.
Any donations will be gratefully received.
Thank you
