Three Peaks Challenge · 7 November 2009

NWCRF spend an average of almost 90p in every £1 donated funding research into the causes of Cancer and how it spreads. Almost all our funding is generated by volunteers from North Wales to North Cumbria and spent in Liverpool, Lancaster and Bangor Universities. Help us find the Causes of Cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, below are details of our challenge to be completed in just 24 hrs battling the elements, fatigue and no doubt lots of blisters!!!!!

Donate generously, it's for a worthy cause (plus the satisfaction of me in pain whilst your fast asleep in a warm bed)!

Please feel free to pass onto friends and family who may wish to donate.

Be Smart and Support the Team

Smart Storage is supporting the North West Cancer Research Fund as their nominated charity. As part of our fund raising activities this year we have decided to undertake the Three Peaks Challenge.

We will be climbing the highest peaks in England Scotland and Wales on the weekend of 7th November. Our target is to raise £5000 from this event and all donations whether large or small are very welcome.

About North West Cancer Research Fund

Founded in 1948 as the Friends of the Liverpool Radium Institute, the charity is one of the oldest independent medical charities in the North West.

Their aim is to provide grants to support fundamental research in the North West of England and North and mid Wales into the causes of cancer and the mechanisms by which cancers arise and excerpt their effects.

All of their funds are raised by voluntary means to fund vital research at the University of Liverpool, Lancaster University and University College of Wales in Bangor.  A large proportion is raised by volunteers by branches in the area covering Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Shropshire and North and Mid Wales.

NWCRF have raised over £19.5 million for research to date and are very proud of the fact that, on average, over 90p of every £1 donated has been put into actual research.

There are normally thirty projects under way at any one time with each receiving an average of £95,000 for a three year study. For further details on the work North West Cancer Research find please visit their website at:
