Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 25th June my Dad and I will be taking part in the St Ann's Hospice Manchester Midnight Walk in memory of my mum. This is a 10K walk around the centre of Manchester in order to raise funds as part of the hospice's 40th Birthday celebrations.

Following a long and brave battle against cancer my mum passed away in April 2011. After her first diagnosis in 2005 she was determined to get as much out of life as she could; her positivity and strength of character was an inspiration to all who knew her.

During the last 6 months of her life St Ann's Hospice in Cheadle provided an amazing support to my mum and also to me, my brother and my dad. Everyone who works there from the nursing staff to the volunteers are truely remarkable people and we cannot thank them enough.

The hospice runs predominantly on charitable donations and is therefore reliant on support for their fundraising activities. They require around £16,000 per day in donations in order to give the right level of care to their patients. 3,000 patients per year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limitting illnesses are treated by the hospice either in-house or through their various schemes.

If you are able to make even a small donation to St Ann's Hospice and support our fundraising activity we would be extremely grateful.

Thanks very much for reading our story,
