It's that time of year, and another Lebrec woman is attempting to complete a foolish and ill-advised physical feat.
In September, my broken little body will make the trip back to the motherland.*
It's a tiny boat. It will be cold. There will be many jelly fish.
It's a team effort, and I will be swimming with a team of truly amazing people. Among them is Bill - who helped save me on 8th December 2014 when I was run over by a lorry.
London's Air Ambulance saved my life and it brings me a lot of joy to be in a position where I am fit enough (sort of) to raise some money for them. They carried out REBOA - a technique they are the first service to use out of hospital, (unfamiliar with what this is? Read more here! https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/walking-again-london-cyclist-crushed-by-skip-lorry-hails-medic-who-saved-her-a3087656.html).
Not only did they save me, they have made my recovery so much easier with the support they have offered me.
I would be dead if it wasn't for them. But I also wouldn't be as happy as I am now without them.
Please give if you can. I know we have asked a lot over the years since the crash, but they continue to save people just like me every day, and they need money to do it.
If you're still unconvinced and require being moved to tears before donating, listen to the podcast I did with another ex-patient who is also an amputee. Myleene Klass cried - you can too.

Thank you xxxxxxxxxx
*It's a team effort and thankfully I will not be swimming the entire channel myself. We will be in boats of six, taking it in turns to swim an hour at a time.
