Story

Firstly thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit this page.

I am a newly married, 28 year old woman, who has made it her aim to run two marathons, the Virgin London Marathon and Prague Marathon, in 2011 raising £2,000 for local Rotherhithe charity, The Dockland Settlements, which is dedicated to the improving the lives of those living in the Rotherhithe and Stratford by providing community services in deprived areas via its three dedicated centres. Dockland Settlements work within these communities offering breakfast and after-school clubs, pre-school childcare, youth work, counselling, IT training, organised sports and social activities to low-income families and the elderly

For over 100 years Dockland Settlements has provided recreational, educational and counselling services and facilities to communities within the Isle of Dogs, Rotherhithe and Stratford areas of London’s former Dockland. Business development and regeneration within these areas has created a host of new opportunities for local people, but many living in the shadow of the tall buildings and corporate headquarters, still face life in some of the most deprived areas of the country.

By donating to this noble cause, you can make a real difference to people's lives across South East London, enabling the Dockland Settlements to provide resources for future generations and helping build a better future for the whole community. Thank you for your donation.
