Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know the children and I were involved in a nasty head on collision last June. Thankfully we are all know fully recovered but I feel indebted to the emergency services that helped us. As a nurse myself I am very aware of what happens from accident to the hospital ward, but the police, ambulance, air ambulance and hospital staff that dealt with myself and my children in an awful situation on that day were amazing and extremley kind.
I was appalled to learn that the air ambulances in this country are the only ones in Europe without any central funding. This is staggering when you realise how important they are not only in rural areas but in our congested inner cities, and for stabalising spinal injuries and to reduce transfer times.
So now fit and able I am walking the entire length of Hadrian's wall (84 miles) in 5 days, with three friends and fellow mums, Karen, Lizzy and Julie. Karen had a nasty sledging accident in Feb 2009 which resulted in a very bad broken ankle so she is walking for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, but you never know who will pick you up as George was lifted by Thames Valley.
Please help to repay my gratitude to this amazing service.
