<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As some of you may or may not know, I am taking part in the Virgin London Marathon to raise money for <strong>St Luke’s Hospice</strong> on 22 April 2012.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>I have chosen to run for St Luke’s Hospice since I would like to create awareness of who they are and what they do, along with raising money for a good cause. I am running in memory of my late uncle, Navin V Popat who passed away in July 2011, a man who had touched many hearts, a father figure to many and meant a great deal to me.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>During his treatment, he received a lot of support from various organisations, but St Luke’s Hospice really stood out. He used to go there once a week for a day of group support meetings, massages, consultations and the opportunity to talk to someone about what was on his mind. Throughout the three year battle he had against cancer, he was always determined to go to these sessions, and he always used to come back with a smile, feeling energised and positive, which had a great effect on his treatment and the morale of everyone around him.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>It has been an ambition of mine to run the London marathon for a number of years, and thought this is the time to fulfil it. It is a big challenge for me and will require a lot of belief and training to be able to run 40km so any support you can show will be much appreciated.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>I will keep updating this page with my progress and what fundraising activities I have been up to so keep visiting!</span></p>
