The MIND Mental Health Charity ice hockey team will be competing at the Allstars charity ice hockey weekend.

8 teams will battle it out on the ice to be the top fundraisers and eventual tournament winners.

We will be competing at the Allstars tournament on July 29th / 30th 2022 held in Cardiff, Wales.

I am so proud to be part of this team after a very tough few years. It's a charity close to my heart after experiencing the guilt and the loneliness of a nervous breakdown and after finally realizing what the problem was, i had a brilliant councilor who helped me through a very dark time that allowed me to eventually see the sunshine through a very thick dark cloud that followed me around. It was a very hard time for my family and without them i think i would have given up and left it all behind.  I didn't think i was worthy or good enough for my beautiful children even and I would not wish what i went through on anyone but i know people and very close friends and family of mine deal with this on a daily basis. 

Getting on the ice this year is going to be a challenge in itself for me after 2 years of illness, so i'm very nervous, but i'm determined to get my life back on track and start feeling better again. I can't do any of the previous (before covid) ideas i had because my head just won't cope with it all, but getting my fitness back and starting to get a little more control in my life is my goal over the next year. I'm looking forward be being part of this amazing tournament and to know we are raising money for some amazing charities. 

Also being able to talk to others and be inspired to help others is why i'm here doing this. Monies raised will help fund councilors and the science behind helping people fight their own mental health struggles.
