YES! WE'VE DONE IT! WAHOOO! A BIG thank you to everybody who's donated. Thank you for helping towards 25 weeks of extra care help for Vishvadakini and Keir.
Update: Keir has had his operations and is doing really well, after an initial difficult period immediately after his surgery. In fact he's out of his first cast, and into separate casts for each leg, which gives him more movement. He's healing well and in good spirits.
Keir, 6, has profound multiple learning difficulties, and is severely disabled. He is almost completely blind and he cannot walk - yet.
His hips have not developed properly, and he needs surgery to reconstruct his hip sockets.
He needs constant care, stimulation and support to help him interact with the world. In plaster, he is going to need a lot of emotional and practical support and Vishvadakini cannot do this for so long without extra care help. It is an exhausting situation at the best of times.
The cost of care help is £10 an hour. Can you help?
Your donation will pay for someone to help Vishvadakini lift and move Keir, or help with cooking and cleaning, or care for Keir while Vishvadakini goes for a run, meditates, attends chapter, gets out for a day, has contact with friends, does yoga or just hangs out having a bit of space for herself outside the house - these are the things that she needs to stay well; helping Vishvadakini stay well helps Keir too. We are raising this money through Buddhafield, in recognition of the years Vishvadakini was with the team, and the wonderful contribution she made to the project.
