Round 3 – Tekken Tag Tournament 2 – Mon 25 Mar 13 (First Round games run in time slots between 19:00 and 21:00)

Are you the king of fighting games?  Come and test your skills at our monthly fight club.  Every month we will hold a tournament of the latest and greatest fighting games to determine who the number one fighting games player is.  At the end of the year, the winner of each WAX Fight Club will be invited back to participate in the grand final across multiple games.

March sees Round 3 of the year long tournament with the latest edition of the Tekken franchise, Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

As well as bragging rights for winning the tournament, the winner will receive an unbranded PS3 Hori fight stick and second place will receive an Insert Coin Tekken t-shirt.  There will also be a raffle on the night, so everyone, regardless of ability has a chance to win prizes.

Entry in to the competition is £2, payable via this page.  All money collected via tournament entrance fees will be donated to the charity Special Effect (www.specialeffect.org.uk).  No money will be taken or charged on the door, so spectators are welcome, but strictly over 18s only.  ID may be required.  The tournament will be limited to 32 entrants, and priority to the next event will be given to players at the end of each event.

Each tournament will be a knock-out style.  The first and second round will be single best of three round games with a set time limit.  From the quarter finals onwards players will play a best of three with the option to change characters.  Each round will have a set round limit.

The tournament will be played on the PS3.  PS3 controllers will be provided, but players are allowed to bring and use their own fight sticks.

Once registered, players will be able to book a time slot for their first round from the time slots available.  First round games run in four half hour time slots starting at 19:00.  If you are late for your round slot, you forfeit your round.  Tournament entrance fees are non-refundable.

There are twelve places available in the final tournament, one for each winner of the monthly tournaments.  So if a player wins multiple tournaments, there will be less players in the final tournament, so less competition for the grand prize.

Cosplayers dressed as characters from each game will be on hand at each event to collect money and sell wristbands for the charity Special Effect.

WAX London will also have a themed cocktails and shots available at each event.

Venue – Wax London, 29-31 Joel Street, Northwood Hills, London, HA6 1NU.  Wax London is a stone's throw from Northwood Hills underground station on the Met Line which is half an hour from Baker Street.  The last underground train to Baker Street leaves just after midnight, but the tournament will aim to be finished by 23:00.
