In 1994 some visionaries at Western raised the funds necessary to lay the first privately club owned pitch in Scotland. Since that time the pitch has served the club well but is now in need of replacement. 

In '94 the governing bodies gave the club half of the money needed to lay the surface. Today, with the downturn in economic conditions, they are offering us less than a fifth of the money needed.

This has put a huge onus on the club to raise the funds necessary to ensure the survival of the club at Auchenhowie. If the surface is not replaced in the next 12 months, the top teams will need to move from Milngavie and this will surely spell the start of a nomadic existence for Western.

As a club we have already raised a six figure sum and are in negotiations with contractors about laying the surface and securing the best possible deals but we need your help.
