Rainbow Trust Children's Charity supports families who have a child with a serious or life-threatening illness. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support.

Story

In January 2013, the team at WSM cast votes and decided to support The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.

The Rainbow Trust is a children’s charity that provides emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness throughout the UK.

Here are a few examples of the support they provide to families:
• Practical tasks in the home – taking the stress from parents by helping around with activities around the house
• Spending time with sick children at times when parents are unable to
• Spending time with siblings
• Emotional support during the bereavement process

On Saturday the 18th of May WSM will be hosting a Charity Rugby 7s Tournament at Esher Rugby Club in aid of the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. Club and social teams have been invited to partake in what promises to be a fantastic day of rugby and fundraising for the Rainbow Trust.

If you are a rugby player with 11 other team mates and fancy getting involved, then please contact Ben Lee or Kayley Hackshaw and you will be sent an application form for entry.

If you are interested in coming along to spectate, Esher Rugby Club has a car park, and is also accessible from Hersham train station. No price for spectator entry, though if you do enjoy your time on the day there will be plenty of opportunity to make a donation to the Rainbow Charity Children’s Trust in aid of the event.

You can also follow our progress on our website and WSM Twitter and facebook pages.
