Story

Greetings Waggy Walkers!

My name is Barnes and I am this year’s mascot for Dogs Trust Waggy Walks.

I have loved the past two Waggy Walks but I am getting older now- the grand old age of 11 (77 in human years!). So this year I will be taking it slow! My beard is going grey and my bones are getting creaky so I have to make sure I take my cod liver oil tablets every day (my owner has to take them too!). I am certainly not as fast as I used to be but I do still love my walkies. This year I got diagnosed with a skin disease but don’t worry I am a tough cookie and my owners take great care me making sure I have regular check ups with the vets and lots of love and treats!

I have been lucky to have had such a happy and loving home but I know that sadly so many dogs haven’t been as fortunate as me- which is why Dogs Trust are so important to all my canine chums. This is who I am raising money for- all my four legged pals at Dogs Trust who are still without a home. Dogs Trust care for more than 16,000 dogs a year so every donation really does help. Dogs Trust provide all the love, care, food and veterinary treatment needed until they find the perfect home to go to.

This years Waggy Walks will be held on Sunday 2nd October at 12 beautiful locations nationwide. If you are not able to attend one of the 12 Dogs Trust walks, this year you can set up your very own Waggy Walks and get everyone Waggy Walking for Dogs Trust in your local community! For further information, see www.waggywalks.org.uk.

Last year, my friend Otis raised a fantastic £4,235 so it would be great if we could make this year bigger and better - that would really please an old boy like me!

Off for my afternoon nap!  Thanks for your support!
