We are hoping to raise £14,000 for water supply improvement works in West Kenya. Our initial project, The Waitaluk Water Project, is the first stage towards providing a decent water supply for more than 500 local people and their livestock, in a largely subsistence farming area near Kitale. At present they rely on a shallow seasonal spring and when that gives out they have to carry water from a dirty river almost 1km away. The proposed work in this stage will provide a deep borehole with a hand operated pump for use by the villagers. If we manage to get this done then we will seek to improve the system with a storage tank and solar powered electric pump, for an additional £6,000. The charity Nehemiah Construction Ministries U.K. will be doing the work and you can see more about this project on their website' www.nehemiahconstruction.org.uk

In the event of this project not proceeding for whatever reason or if the amount of money raised exceeds that required to complete the project then the money raised will be used for water supply projects in Kenya undertaken by the registered charity.

Roy and Beryl Lemberger
