Truro Half Marathon · 20 September 2009

This charity provides the support and management for the Cornwall Air Ambulance, which was the first dedicated air ambulance service in the UK. The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust exists to help releive sickness and pain, with the provision of an air ambulance for the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and visitors to the county.

Story

We have naively agreed to run the Truro Half Marathon on Sunday 20th September 2009 and peer pressure and man pride mean that we have reached the point where we can't back out. We are hoping that a few short weeks training coupled with bravado, isotonic drinks and sponge stations will sustain us through the whole 13.1 miles.

We are running to raise funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
The Cornwall Air Ambulance is a charitable organisation solely maintained by donations as it receives no form of official funding. The resident population and visitors to Cornwall finance the Air Ambulance by donations, various fund-raising events, purchase of weekly Air Ambulance lottery tickets and legacies. Operational costs for the Cornwall Air Ambulance currently average over £65,000 each month.

We feel that this is a very important charity for all residents of and visitors to Cornwall so please show your support by sponsoring us.
