Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been living with M.E for 2 years now. Awareness of this illness needs to be raised because a number of doctors still believe it is psychological and deny help to those who are suffering. It can take months or years to get a diagnosis because routine tests come back normal, it is a diagnosis of elimination. Once it has been decided that this is the illness that you have, you then have to face the "we don't why this has happened or why your body doesn't work so there is no cure and the only treatments we have are trial and error." This is why much more research is needed.

My M.E is mild to moderate. I can walk with the assistance of a cane and can attend university. Those with severe M.E cannot leave their beds or feed themselves and require full time care. I can walk, so I am walking for those who can't.

4 miles may not seem like much but for me it is a distance that I would never normally attempt. It will be difficult and painful so I'm asking for your support to help me in my cause.
