Update 10th December 2010 - Camelot have match funded £3000 of the funds raised and his has been included in the total

Camelot's Insight Team is raising money to hold a fantastic Christmas party for Watford Mencap Children’s Centre on Wednesday 15^th December.

Watford Mencap supports over 500 children and adults in the Watford and South Herts area who have learning disabilities. These disabilities make it harder for them to learn and understand and often mean they don’t get the same opportunities or rights as others. 

 

Every year Watford Mencap needs to raise over £200,000 to run the Children’s Centre, which supports children with learning disabilities. The money raised will provide stimulating and fun activities for the children as well as much needed respite for their parents. The Children’s Centre is the only service of its kind in the local area and is currently facing funding cuts.

 

This Christmas Party will provide at least 30 families with 3.5hours of respite each. This will mean they will be able to do some Christmas shopping or spend some quality time with their other children.

 

Any extra money raised will go towards the running of the Children’s Centre. Please donate on our Just Giving page and help Camelot’s Insight Team to provide this wonderful afternoon for the children.
