Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It been 10 years since I last ran a marathon and I'm finding the training for Edinburgh Marathon extremely tough! I'm not getting any younger and frequently ask myself why am putting my ageing body through all this pain? The reason is simple, this past year I know a number of family, friends and work colleagues who are living with cancer or have sadly already lost their battle.

One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of us will ever face. If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or a loved one has, you’ll want a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way. MacMillan Cancer Support provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. The number of people with cancer is growing every day. MacMillan Cancer Support want to reach and improve the lives of every one of those people. Although running a marathon will be a tough challenge it will be easy in comparison to the challenge those with cancer face every day, I would like do a small part in helping ease their suffering so please give a donation (no matter how small). You never know when you might need their support!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
