<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>I will be running the Brighton Marathon on 15th April 2012 to raise funds for the Early Birth Association. I will also be running the Brighton &amp;&nbsp;Eastbourne&nbsp;Half Marathons in the 2 months leading up to the full marathon. Your donation will be a great motivation to me and go towards reaching my fundraising target.</p> <p>As many of you will know this charity is close to our hearts as it became a massive help to us while Lewy was in intensive care in Brighton after birth.</p> <p>After his early arrival at 30 weeks, weighing 3 pounds and fighting for his life the care he recieved was second to none. He stayed in a critical condition for the first week, being fully ventilated,&nbsp;fighting infections and suffering from bleeding on the brain. His condition began improving after the first week only to be set back by a serious infection after 10 days, we watched on as he was resussitated in his incubator. He fought on for the next 10 days until he was well enough to be moved in to special care. Each night as I left my son the hospital would let me take a blanket from his incubator, it became my comfort while I was away from him. It was only later that I became aware that this was only possible because of the Early Birth Association raising funds to pay for the blankets.</p> <p>The Early Birth Charity raises funds and ensures all the money raised buys much needed items for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. The items range from blankets and comfort items to vital pieces of expensive equipment for both the babies and parents.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
