Between February 10th and 19th, 2012, I will be embarking on a 100km trek across part of the Sahara Desert in Morocco.
I have been a keen walker for many years, but this will be my greatest challenge to date! I will have to give up all of life's little luxuries and live the nomadic way of life in the relentless heat of the desert for 6 days!
I am part of a team of 49 trekkers undertaking this challenge to raise essential funds for Beaumond House Community Hospice in Newark. The Hospice is a registered charity that provides support to patients with life limiting or terminal illnesses, living in Newark and the surrounding area.
Each year the charity provides care for over 400 patients and support for their families, caring for around 100 patients at any one time. All of the care is provided at no cost to the patient or family.
