We are trying to raise money for St. Michaels Hospice (Hereford) who looked after our wonderful Mum who sadly passed away on the 3rd of August 2011, age 52, after fighting very bravely against Pancreatic Cancer for the last year.
On Sept 16th 2011, we are entering a team of girls called Wend's Warriors, made up of family and friends to do the 10k Midnight Venus Challenge around Hereford and we would be very grateful if you would sponsor us, no matter how small, every penny makes a difference to help St. Michaels Hospice continue to deliver the amazing care and support they give.
While us girls are doing this, if there are any of you guys who would like to volunteer to help with the marshaling of the event, please either of us or directly to St. Michael's on 01432 851000 and ask for the events team.
St Michael's Hospice is committed to providing specialist palliative care for people who have active and progressive life-limiting conditions, and support for their families and friends.
They are an independent charity and all their services are given free. It costs over £10,000 per day to provide these services and they rely on around 90% of their funding from the community as they receive no government funding.
Not only did they look after our wonderful Mum, they also looked after us as a family and for that we will always be very grateful.
