Sunday 21st March: I did it - I ran my first Half marathon in a steady 2 hours 20ish. Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, it made such a difference and kept me going when it would have been easy to stop for a bit.
If you hadn't got around to sponsor me, then it isn't too late. This page remains open until June, by which time I'll have run another Half marathon - I appear to have got the running bug.
Thanks again
Wendy
And why I did the run in the first place...
I started running last summer and was chuffed when, at the end of September, I managed to run the Windsor 8k. But at the end of that race, I vowed that was far enough and I would never do a half marathon. So who has motivated me to run the Reading Half on 21 March? Two young ladies that's who.
One of them is Marcie, a true inspiration to anyone who was lucky enough to meet her. Marcie died in October, having battled cancer for nearly 6 years. She was just 14 years old. She was a plucky teenager, always with a smile on her face, full of fun and so so determined. She never gave up.
Her family have also been amazing throughout, no doubt in part to the support they had from Sebastian Action Trust. It's such a good cause, and if you want to learn more about their work and Marcie, click here

So for Marcie, and all children battling cancer and their families, please donate now.
Thank you so much
Wendy
