Wendy and Carol are running the Virgin London Marathon (VLM) on the 23rd April'17 and all the training and hard work will be worth the effort to raise money for the wonderful Maggie's Centre in Lanarkshire.

Cancer has affected us both through it's impact on family and friends and we have seen how the right support can enhance treatment.  Maggie’s centres offer free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends - help is offered freely to anyone with any type of cancer.   Now in their 20th year as a charity, they are about to open their 20th Maggie's Centre ..... as we embark on our 20 week training plan.

Having visited Maggie's Centre Lanarkshire (Monkland's Hospital), it is evident how invaluable the care, support and environment provided there is.  We were so moved and inspired to try to help this wonderful charity as much as we could - every penny we raise will go directly to the Lanarkshire Centre.

We are very honoured to be the first VLM charity runners for Maggie's Lanarkshire and would be delighted if you would sponsor us in our VLM challenge to help them continue to provide care and support to families dealing with cancer.  Our target is set at £2400, which is how much it costs to keep a Maggie's Centre open for one day.

We will keep you updated on training and other races before VLM, as well as other fund-raising activities planned.
