RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

On the 4th August this year I will be jumping out of a plane at Netheravon with the renowned Red Devils, hoping to raise as much money as possible for two local and very important charities.  I’ve never done anything like this before and thought it was the most challenging thing I could do as I’m not the best at heights!

One of the charities I am raising money for is the Weymouth Lifeboat Station which is a very important charity within our town.  They are one of the busiest lifeboat stations on the coast and undertake around 100 'shouts' a year.  Weymouth Lifeboats is an organisation funded entirely through voluntary contributions and the volunteer crew do such an remarkable job.  I recently spent a day at sea with them and could see at first hand just how skilful and dedicated they are.

I would also like to raise money towards Rushton Dog Rescue based in Weymouth, single handedly run by Cindi McNeil Regan, where she rescues dogs around the Dorset area from some very unpleasant situations.  She does all the home checks, follow up checks and general funding from her own pocket and has recently obtained her full registered charity status.  This is such an important charity and very close to my heart as I am a dog owner myself and I have known Cindy for a number of years.  She is an inspiration and needs all the help she can get to continue this tremendous job of rescuing dogs less fortunate than my own.  I feel it is very important that a small charity like Rushton Dog Rescue needs to be recognised, especially within the town it benefits.

I want this to be a memorable time for me as Carnival Queen and feel it is an important duty to make as much money as possible for these local charities so please help me and donate as much as you can.

I hope to raise £2,000 to be divided equally between the two charities.  I am unable to set up just one page for this event, so have provided a page with links to both Rushton Dog Rescue and the Weymouth Lifeboats so please donate alike between the two.  I know every penny counts for both of these worthwhile charities, so please give generously.

Please note that all of the monies raised will go directly to the charity – I will be paying for the Skydive entirely from my own funds

Thanks for all the support and contributions!
