Rob Howes and Mike Prowse are taking on a sponsored cycle challenge to raise vital funds for Farleigh Hospice. In June 2012 our closest friend, Mark Wells, passed away after having been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. During his illness Mark received care from Farleigh Hospice who provide support for people who have life limiting incurable illnesses. Mark and his family received care and support both within the hospice and through the hospice-at-home service that Farleigh provide. In October 2012 our friend Edna Carlton also passed away. Edna was also cared for by Farleigh Hospice during her illness.

In memory of Mark, we will be cycling from Mark’s home in Chelmsford, Essex, to Crackington Haven, Cornwall, which was a place Mark & Julia loved. This is around 300 miles and we will make the journey over the four days of Easter, 2013. As we are not hardened cyclists, and are both in our 40’s, this will be a significant challenge for us. We hope you will give generously to support this cause and to inspire us on the ride.

At any one time Farleigh Hospice is providing care and support, totally free of charge, to around 2,060 local people affected by life limiting illnesses. Whether a patient requires relief from pain, help to live positively, expert advice, specialist care in a comforting environment, support for their family, or a whole host of other services ~ Farleigh Hospice is there for them at their time of greatest need.
To fund this care they need to raise £7,850 each and every day to carry on caring.
