RedR UK strengthens the capacity of agencies, aid workers and affected communities to prepare, respond, and recover from disaster. We enable effective, inclusive, and sustainable response to complex humanitarian crisis.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our 'Wheely' Good Cause page.

We are a team of Atkins' graduates who, over the next few weeks, will be carrying out a number of fun and interesting events in the support of the charity RedR.

As a graduate cohort, we are aiming to raise £37,000 to help this charity with their humanitarian work. We are excited with this challenge and hope you enjoy the events on offer.

We will start with a cycling event from the 31st October - 4th November with a Halloween inspired cake sale on the side. After all, you will need refuelling after so much exercise, whether you take part in the cycling or not!

Another event will be a cinema session in which we will watch a movie that is now off-screen - keep an eye out for details.

Meet the team:

Dan - 27, Bath University graduate. Stayed in the Southwest because he loves the area. A triathlete in his spare time.

Nick - Another Bath University graduate. Recently joined the Nuclear division in Atkin's Energy business as a Mechanical Engineer. His hobbies include: tennis, golf and cricket. He is looking forward to raising money for RedR in their support for humanitarian efforts around the world, through fun and interesting activities.

Laura - Nottingham University graduate. Just started in the Aerospace section of Atkins' ADS&T. She loves scuba diving.

Adam - Graduated from Newcastle University with a masters in Mechanical Engineering with Low Carbon Transport in 2015, and is now working in Atkins' Energy Uk and Europe Nuclear department in the Mechanical Analysis team. A key part of Atkins' workforce is their generosity and Adam is looking forward to aiding Atkins' charity of choice RedR in their mission to effectively combat world disasters.

Tom - Studied Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. Tom is an avid hockey player and self-proclaimed 'goal machine'. Originally from Middlesbrough, Tom recently moved to Bristol to start work for Atkins in their ADS&T division.

Greg - As a graduate Quantity Surveyor, Greg is shadowing more senior Surveyors on multiple domestic and international projects. He is primarily responsible for cost controls and contract administration on new build and redevelopment construction projects. Greg first joined Faithful + Gould as an undergraduate placement student before completing his studies where he  was accepted on to their prestigious graduate scheme. His ambition is to become a chartered surveyor through the RICS's APC programme.
