Hamble Lifeboat is an independent Lifeboat Service which has been saving lives since 1968. Based in Hamble, we operate in the central Solent, Southampton water and Rivers Hamble, Test and Itchen. We respond to over 100 Incidents per year. Your donations enable us to keep saving lives.

Story

Our Lifeboat crew are going to attempt to walk around the Isle of Wight. All 68 miles plus. We call it the Great WIGHT WOBBLE.
We’re trying to raise money to purchase new Personal Protection Equipment (the present lets in water!), plus the training necessary to put crew into the water to help casualties. It’s an essential part of what we do.

This year’s Crew have elected to equally Help the SOUTHAMPTON VETERANS CENTRE.

Why? During Hamble Lifeboat's 50 years of being on-call, serving, or ex-serving, men and woman of the Armed Forces have always been part of the crew. Presently aboard we have Crew Marie Whitehouse (serving RN Officer) and Coxswain Paul Ackland (Ex Royal Signals). They nominated the Veterans Centre and the whole crew agreed.

We’re walking Friday 10th. May - Sunday 12th. May.

We hope you can help. Thank You.

SVDC is all about providing local Veterans with a helping hand.  The Centre, based in Woolston, is fundraising to provide a dental centre, a therapy centre and to purchase a minibus for the many veterans, some who suffer from PTSD, some with mental health. Some just need a refuge among friends.

Hamble Lifeboat, a financially independent lifeboat, relies solely on donations from the people of Hamble and those that ply the local waters.  It takes £60,000.00 per year to run and maintain the boat, kit the crew and train them to the very highest standard.

As per last years “Hamble Ramble” all funds raised will be split equally between the Hamble Lifeboat and the Southampton Veterans Centre.
