MAK and several grassroots groups in Podujeve, Kosovo have invited Wild Zones to partner with them to create a summer play project in Podujeve.  We will offer the opportunity for the children, teens and families of this traumatized town to experience the joy of unstructured play in the natural setting in the Peace Park.

 

Our project will include the training of local teenagers as Play Rangers and presentations to parents, teachers, and government officials about the value of free play in nature for the development of Kosovo’s children.

 

Saranda who survived the massacre in Podujeve was thrilled to learn about Wild Zones.  She said, “The children in the town will love Wild Zones!  They like to be outside but they have never played creatively in nature in these ways.  Their lives are still hard because of the war and they are so happy when they can try something new.”
