One of my dearest and most amazing friends Lizz Harrison works for an incredible charity called Y Care International. Y Care International works in over 20 countries worldwide changing young lives through local YMCAs in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East. They help with emergencies such as natural disasters, health promotion around the world, the livelihoods, justice and peace of young people everywhere and are an institution to be championed. Those who work for the charity absolutely bury themselves in their efforts, travelling all around the world to bring about change.

I could not do what Lizz does. I do not have much money to donate to the cause. What I do have however is two legs which vaguely work, a little bit of stubborness and an urge to try and help in some way. So on the 18th July I will start off at 3am from West London and run 100 miles along the Thames towpath nonstop to Oxford aiming to arrive by the evening. It is probably going to be a touch unpleasant, but if I have to crawl the last few miles I will get the job done.

I hope you donate whatever you can and with any luck a good total will be the end result and go a small way to bettering and enriching the lives of young people around the world who need it most. 

And the best bit about all of this is that thanks to the UK Government through UK Aid Match, every pound donated to my fundraising event will be matched! So be generous!!
