The Duchenne Dash · 6 June 2014 to 7 June 2014 ·

As the leading Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) charity in the UK, we want to find effective treatments for DMD and end its devastating impact. We’re going further than anyone has before, and we’re doing it faster, because this generation of people living with DMD can’t wait.

Story

The Duchenne Dash (www.duchennedash.com) is a gruelling 24 hour bike ride from London to Paris in aid of a great cause. We’re riding to help fund a treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy - a wasting disease that leads to paralysis and death in all cases.  We need your support. Follow our journey, enjoy our pain, but please donate and help us make it worthwhile

Duchenne Muscular Dystophy is the biggest genetic killer of children but the research into treatments, including clinical trials, is very promising.  Patient groups like this have been key to funding and thus increasing the pace of research and that's why I think this is such an important cause

The charity's fouders, Nick and Emily Crossley, are my friends and their son Eli has the condition.  I trust them to use the money raised both wisely and efficiently - it will make the maximum possible difference.
