Story
Ben Wickham sadly died last year, at the age of 37. He left behind a wife and young family.
I never met Ben but through one of his close friends I heard about his situation and I was asked if I wanted to join Biking for Ben, an event to commemorate him and raise money for the charity "Winston's Wish" (http://www.winstonswish.org.uk/). This is the leading childhood bereavement charity in the UK. Winston's Wish offers practical support and guidance to bereaved children, their families and professionals.
'Biking for Ben' will cover 650km over 6 days whilst climbing over 15,000 metres. Biking for Ben will start on Sunday 22nd June 2014 just outside Biarritz on the West coast of France and finish on Friday 27th June, just past Perpignan on the East Coast.
Reasons for donating:
1. You think this sounds like a good cause and you want to help
2. You like the idea of me being in serious pain for 6 days - I cannot tell you how hard it is going to be - but for reference on 2 of the days we are cycling the equivalent of up Ben Nevis 3 times each day!!!
3. You think I am only doing this cos I love cycling, but you are a nice person and will give some money anyway - (please watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLj4NZ0p59Q)
