The Kenya Children's Trust - The Kenya Children's Trust Skydive 2011 · 24 September 2011 ·

The Kenya Children’s Trust gives children living in Gataka (a slum on the outskirts of Nairobi) an alternative to a very desperate, and often short, life. With free schooling and a meal each day, our school provides 3-6 year olds with their first step to a better, more hopeful future.

Story

Hello! For anyone who doesn't know, I'm thowing myself out of a plain in October along with a few more amazing people to raise money for Kenya Childrens Trust that will give street kids a real opportunity in life. This trust will be a community run and owned school which is self-sustained. It will be the ideal safe and secure environment they need :)

After spending a few months in Ghana i realised how luck we all are living here in the UK. We have everything we need and when times are hard, they're not half as hard as people living in the developing world.
We have the NHS, we have the benefit service and most of all 99% of children get an education or at very least are given the chance to study.

The children we're helping are fighting to survive daily. Most have the lack of the 5 most basic human rights, food, water, shelter, health care and education. Kenya Childrens Trust will provide a place to study for children who previously wouldn't have had the chance and a safe place to grow and learn. If they had studied in the past schools are miles away and even if the chance was there, general day-by-day neccesities get in the way. Things kids in the UK wouldn't dream of doing. By setting up This Trust locally will enable children to embrace life and not have to live on the streets daily.

At the end of the day everyone knows your childhood is the best part of your life, and without the skills and education needed becoming an adult is nowhere near as fun!

EVERYONE can change these peoples lives.

Get on board, be amazing, donate as much or as little as you like and you'll genuinly be changing kids lives in Kenya! I know everyones skint these days but a couple of quid isn't gonna break the bank so get donating!

Peace, Will.

"Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now."
