Trekking from Jomsom to Mustang in Nepal · 11 July 2013

Children of Watamu has, since 2000, been transforming children's lives. The Happy House, opened in 2010, is home and family to up to 100 children-orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected. We have added a high-achieving kindergarten and primary school and junior secondary school.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is a 9 day trek at some very high altitudes. The highest point reaching 4070m. I will be staying in tents along the way and the highest camp is a place called Lo Manthang (3735m).

I am undertaking this trek in order to push myself to new heights to help secure the basic needs of others. The people that this charity work for are orphaned, abandoned and sometimes abused, this charity does more than just provide a shelter, it tries to make progress in tackling the underlying cause.

I will not set myself a target for donations because even the smallest sum of money will make a difference in this tough environment where many of the children suffer from AIDS and Malaria. They deserve as many opportunities in life as we do, and this is the way I have chosen to  try and help them.

Next time I visit Kenya I will take the time to visit this charity and see if your donations and my trek have made a difference.

I thank you in advance.
