Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Those who know me will already be bored. Those who don't may take a little longer.
I like to do something to support the Prince's Trust every year. It is the best sort of charity, changing lives of volunteers and beneficiaries alike. Struggling young people develop skills and confidence to get them started in life. And the young leaders from the police, fire and other emergency services develop leadership skills and gain a very different perspective on their most challenging "clients".
This is the third time I have used the Palace to Palace cycle ride as my excuse for some industrial scale begging. The deal is simple: I get a lovely day out (the last sunny day of the year) and in exchange I engage in relentless begging.
What with the Exigiencies of Life and what-all, I won't be frightening the good citizens of Berkshire with sudden appearances of the fat, sweating cyclist. But practicing beforehand is essentially un-British. I aim for effortless excellence in all things, and I'm sure that the day will go swimmingly.
I don't expect applause for this return to tradition. Just throw money.
