Story
I am completing the Iron Man 70.3 challenge for one amazing cause, Day One. The Iron Man 70.3 is the most significant physical challenge I will have ever attempted. Classed as an Endurance Triathlon, this event will see me undertake a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) open water sea swim, a 56-mile (90 km) bike ride, and a 13.1-mile (21.1 km). A huge challenge requires a huge amount of training and fundraising. For this event I aim to raise at least £1000 but I think together we can easily surpass this goal! If you or your loved ones required care following trauma or injury, you'd want the best possible treatment and rehab. With this in mind, please dig deep, I know I will!
More about Day One (http://dayone.uk.com/):
Day One is a non-profit charity committed to making a positive impact on trauma care in England.
Currently Day One is based in the major trauma centre at Leeds General Infirmary and affiliated to the Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Charitable Foundation, however this is just the start. We aim to grow and support other major trauma centres, becoming a national initiative.
We’re not just fundraisers, we’re a group of dedicated medical and legal experts. But most importantly the majority of us have experienced major trauma ourselves. We have been through the highs – and the lows – on the road to recovery, so we understand what a rollercoaster ride it is.
We know that it’s not easy, we know it won’t be fixed overnight, but the right support from Day One can help you through.
