<p>Hi Everyone,</p> <p>I've decided to run for the Bhopal Medical Appeal in the Brighton Marathon In April</p> <p>25 years ago, in December 1984, India saw the beginning of the worst industrial disaster in history - a catastrophic gas leak from a Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal.&nbsp;</p> <p>8-10,000 people died within the first 72 hours.&nbsp; Since that day at least another 15,000 people have died as a result of their exposure to the toxic gas and another 120,000 have chronic medical conditions that require constant healthcare.</p> <p>Today, many thousands of people are still suffering the after effects of the disaster, but their plight is often overshadowed by more recent tragedies, or those closer to home.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Bhopal Medical Appeal funds the Sambhavna Clinic. Sambhavna is the only place that offers free treatment to anybody affected by the toxic gas or the toxic water.</p> <p>Sambhavna is reliant on donations and any money we raise will be going directly to the clinic.&nbsp; As a benchmark, &pound;35 is all it needs to heal a child and change it&acute;s life.
