A gift to Warwick changes lives. Donors support students with scholarships and bursaries, fund vital medical research and help communities across the globe from Coventry to Africa. We can't wait to hear about your project too - thank you for your support!

Story

So in my infinite wisdom I've decided that after a year of teaching Maths every day that it'd be a great idea to spend the whole of August doing it too...

Except not in Coventry, but in Soweto in Johannesburg as part of the Warwick in Africa programme.  I'll be a proper teacher for 4 weeks, working 8-5 every day in an attempt to provide a quality of education that unfortunately cannot be provided to these young people.  I will also be working with their current teachers in an attempt to share what limited expertise I currently possess with them.

To raise money I'll be doing various silly things: the main event being on Thursday the 11th July where I will teach an entire day's worth of lessons in a lion onesie.  There will also be sponsored silences from myself and some unlucky members of my mentor group, an end of term concert and some leg waxing.

I've been a bit late to the party in raising the funds so if you could donate anything at all that would be amazing.  I've got until the 15th of July.

Thanks a lot

Will
