Story

THE CHALLENGE?

· Cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats

· 980 miles

· 6 days (beginning Sunday 15 July)

· 164 miles a day average

· 12+ Hours in the saddle a day (depending on wind/rain/road conditions)

THE REASON? (other than being able to wear spray-on lyrca)

Very simple; in aid of the Lt Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust (“DDMT”).

As some of you may know, the DDMT has been set up in memory of our great friend Dougie Dalzell, a lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards. Dougie was killed in action in Afghanistan by an IED on his birthday in February 2010 and was subsequently awarded the Military Cross, an award granted in recognition of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land. He was a great guy and is terribly missed by friends and family alike.

In memory of Dougie, the trust seeks to assist persons who are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces, and their dependents, and thereby improve the quality of life of soldiers who have given so much for their country. To read more about the trust and work it does please visit: http://www.dougiedalzellmemorialtrust.co.uk/

Therefore, we would be delighted if you would sponsor us to take on this challenge in aid of the DDMT and would be enormously grateful for any sponsorship you can muster.
