Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mat Lapping has kindly donated a FULL DAY tattoo to be completed at the Teesside Charity Tattoo Convention, the whole event is to raise money for the Jo & Mya foundation - We would like to thank Mat for donating the day & good luck to everyone who enters - the cost of each raffle ticket is 10 pounds - and multiples of eg donate 50 pound and get 5 tickets into the raffle, the raffle will be drawn the week before the event & the tattoo is to be completed at Teesside on the 1st September, and there are no alternates to this.

Below is a brief backstory to the charity & thanks everyone who donates & good luck.

On the 8 August 2010, Ian Richardson, his wife Joanne, and two daughters Mya (6) and Ava (10weeks old), were travelling back from a family wedding in Scotland, what was a perfect weekend, turned into the most tragic imaginable. Just thirty miles from their home in Teesside, their family car was hit head on by another motorist heading the wrong way along the A1.

Joanne was killed instantly. Mya and Ian sustained massive injuries, whilst Ava escaped unscathed. Mya sadly died in her fathers arms in hospital 16 hours later. In what for most would have destroyed them, Ian set about trying to help others

Ian set about creating a fundraising, turning his grief into something positive, in an attempt to keep his wife and daughters names “alive” and help others.

With no employees, the work of the charity is carried out by Ian and other volunteers and fundraisers. Every penny raised going directly to help children in their darkest hours.
