Mumsnet Giving Week 2014 · 2 June 2014

Women’s Aid Federation of England is the national charity working against domestic abuse. Alongside our campaigning, training, and advocacy work, our support services, including our No Woman Turned Away project, break down barriers preventing survivors from accessing refuge.

Story

Thanks for supporting Women's Aid in Mumsnet Giving Week!

We are thrilled to have been chosen as a beneficiary charity for Mumsnet Giving Week 2014. Domestic violence affects one in four women in their lifetime, but as it happens behind closed doors people are often reluctant to talk about it. Mumsnetters will help us to provide support to the tens of thousands of women and children who contact us every year as well as allowing us to campaign to keep the national network of local refuges open and available for every woman who needs them.

£5,000 could enable Women's Aid to provide tailored support to over 200 women who contact us for help because they have been affected by domestic violence.

We really appreciate all the wonderful comments about Women's Aid from the Mumsnetters who nominated us, and would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who voted, and everyone who will be fundraising.
