My friend’s husband, Dave Greaves was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2015 after several months of becoming increasingly more fatigued. He had just turned 30 and was the fittest man I knew having completed several marathons and the Ironman triathlon.

MND is a degenerative disease that results in death of motor neurons (the cells which control voluntary muscular movement of the body). It robs those who suffer from it of the use of their limbs, their voice and eventually their lungs. It drastically reduces life expectancy - 50% of people die within 2 years of diagnosis. 

It is also more common than a lot of people think - a person's lifetime risk of developing MND is up to 1 in 300.

The courage and equanimity that Dave has shown the whole way through this devastating journey is truly inspiring and I’m trying to help in any way I can. To support this on 29th October I’m holding a charity quiz night with a raffle - and I'm here to tell you the SUPER prizes that are up for grabs!
