Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Another year has passed, so it must be time for our next bike challenge, a special one as it is our 5th anniversary. This year 6 intrepid riders, including myself and 1 overworked carer are riding approx. 180 miles (290km) starting from South Wales taking us to the Bradford rugby stadium. Unusual route you might wonder. That is because we are raising money in memory of former Welsh rugby player Gray Robbins, who played for Bradford, was the father in law to one of our fellow riders and lost out to cancer in January this year.
No doubt another challenging route, especially because as usual I have had no training and due to a skiing accident 8 months ago also without a cruciate ligament in my right knee. But I have bought a lighter bike and some new shoes, so I am hopeful. We are setting off Friday the 14th of Sept and hope to arrive on Sunday the 16th. The team this year, as previously, will be Jason Wood, George Clayton, Gill Clingham, Matthew Haddock, Andy Forse, and myself with Angela Tawell by our side as our support driver.
This year, any funds raised through this page will be going to Marie Curie Cancer Care. They do some great work supporting and caring for people in their final days. In the current environment, I can imagine everyone is watching the pennies, but it is in these harder times, especially with less and less public money being available, that organisations like Marie Curie Cancer Care need our help most. So any gift is welcome, no matter how small.
