Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I haven't run this far for many years - indeed I thought my days of distance training were long gone - but this cause is one that is so important I signed up, dusted down my endurance running shoes (as if I had any...) and got myself training again.

Why am I doing this? Well, the Sheffield Scanner will offer so much not just to the people of Sheffield but to the region and beyond. It provides new ways of researching many of the diseases that blight many people lives like Parkinson's, motor neurone, alzheimer's and other degenerative diseases. This will be of huge benefit to those trying to find suitable and effective treatments and thus be of potential help to those suffering these dreadful diseases. 

I do hope you feel this is worthy of support. I'm training hard and even took part in a mixed five-a-side tournament in the summer for the same cause. I'll keep you update on my progress as I aim to conquer the dreaded hill which I'm sure many of you know is a big part of the Sheffield Half Marathon.
