Story

Thank you for visiting Young and Gault's fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

The race took place at Loch Lomond on June 10th 2006.  Our team name was "Britton’s Empire", a small homage to our Captain and Chief Amy Britton .  As you can kind of see from the photo we were all dreassed as Gladiators and yes, all embarrassing photos will be posted on our new website in due course.

After only ten strokes in the first race we took the lead!  However our agression and desire to win caused the boat to rock and before we knew it disaster struck!  A full blown capsize in the first race.  Panic ensued until we all realized that the water was only waist deep!

Never-the-less we bravely fought on, but lost our second race to the eventual winners and recorded our best time of 1min 26 seconds.  In our final race we were triumphant but could not beat our best time.

We would like to thank all our sponsors for helping us smash our target and enabling us to take part in such a fantastic event.   It isn't  too late to add your donation so please feel free.  Bobath will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
